FOOD EXPLORERS- Desserts Around the World (Winter 2026)Get ready for a delicious journey with Food Explorers! In this hands-on dessert class for kids, young chefs will explore flavors and treats from across the globe—no passport required! Along the way, kids will learn basic baking techniques and explore new ingredients. You’ll be making: Black Forest Cupcakes, Banoffee Pies, Scotch Pancakes, and Mini Matcha Donuts. All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian but will contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.  FOOD EXPLORERS -Cooking Around the World:Join Food Explorers for a culinary tour around the world! Each day you’ll be cooking two brand new recipes from different countries, such as: Spaghetti & Vegetarian Meatballs, Fried Dough, Stir Fry (using homemade noodles!) and Apple Crumbles. All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian but will contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.FOOD EXPLORERS - Fall DessertsJoin Food Explorers for fantastic fall desserts! Each week you’ll make brand-new recipes focused on fall flavors and ingredients. You’ll be making: Pumpkin Mousse Trifles, Apple Fritters, Snickerdoodle Cupcakes, and S’mores Donuts. All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian but will contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.TIS Students are dismissed over the loudspeaker for where to meet Recreation Staff at the bell. Recreation Staff will escort program participants to the Recreation Center classroom. Pick-up is at the Tolland Recreation Center.

Looking for care on Early Dismissal Days without enrolling in a full-time after-school program? Half Days with 'The CREW' is the perfect fit! Designed for Tolland Intermediate School Students, this flexible option provides a safe, fun and familiar environment on scheduled half days throughout the school year. Students are met at dismissal by our CREW Leaders and walk to the Recreation Center for an afternoon filled with games, crafts, quiet time and active play. It's everything you love about our After School Program just tailored to the days you need it. Registration is required for each early dismissal day. Open to all TIS Students.

9:00 AM - 2:00 PM    Babysitter Safety - BABYSITTER SAFETY - Winter 2026
This is an entry level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother's helper and individual babysitting concepts.  Basic first aid and obstructed airway management for a conscious choking adult/child and infant will be covered.  First Aid including adult and child CPR (requires passing written and skills testing to receive 2 year certification)Instructor:  LifeSafe Services Staff
