Tolland Recreation, "The CREW After School"! Our program offers an opportunity exclusively for Tolland Intermediate School students to Celebrate Recreation, Education and Well-being. Our after school program is unlike any other in town! 'The CREW' meets every day after school for the entire school year. Students are met by Crew Leaders at the dismissal bell on Regular School days as well as Scheduled Early Release days. From there the CREW make the quick walk up to the Recreation Center - 104 Old Post Road (next door to TIS). Afternoons with 'the CREW' begin with 20 minutes of what we call 'Recess'. This time gives students a chance to get some of their school day energy out, socialize with their friends, play a quick game of catch or jam out to music. We then transition into the classroom with quiet time which may look like a good book, a game of cards, making a friendship bracelet or getting a head start on homework - all before jumping into recreational activities. Consider 'the CREW After School' - the cousin of Crandall's Summer Camp! We can't wait to meet you and have you join 'the CREW'!PROGRAM FEEThe cost of the program is $2,600. Families will have 2 options to remit payment.Option A. Register online or in person and pay in full. Option B. Email request a payment plan to Tollandrec@tollandct.gov. Payments will be split into 10 months ($260/month) due on the 1st of September - May. You'll need to create a household account through www.TollandRec.com, if you don't already have one. I also incorporate some of the principles of Ayurveda, “the science of life”, in these classes to give you more tools to cultivate balance, harmony, and vibrant health in your life. Everything can be adapted to suit individual levels.

Join Tolland High School Track & Field coaches in a summer program designed to build speed, endurance, and confidence! Whether your child is looking to improve their fitness for other sports or discover the joy of running, Tolland On The Run offers a fun, supportive environment for all ability levels. What We’ll Cover: We move beyond the "boring" laps and focus on the fundamentals through high-energy activities. Participants will learn: The Essentials: Proper dynamic stretching and warm-up routines to stay injury-free. Running Mechanics: Games and drills that teach efficient form and sprinting/distance technique. Variety: Workouts held both on the track (for speed) and off-road (for trail-running adventures). The ball most commonly used in the game was invented by David N. Mullany at his home in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1953 when he designed a ball that curved easily for his 12-year-old son. Through fun collaborative games and supportive workshops, young writers will gain the confidence to share their voices and turn their wildest thoughts into finished masterpieces. No prior writing experience is required - just a a big imagination and a sense of adventure! Students will leave with a copy of their very own printed book written and illustrated by them! Class is led by Creative Arts Coach, Nicole!

Join Tolland High School Track & Field coaches in a summer program designed to build speed, endurance, and confidence! Whether your child is looking to improve their fitness for other sports or discover the joy of running, Tolland On The Run offers a fun, supportive environment for all ability levels. What We’ll Cover: We move beyond the "boring" laps and focus on the fundamentals through high-energy activities. Participants will learn: The Essentials: Proper dynamic stretching and warm-up routines to stay injury-free. Running Mechanics: Games and drills that teach efficient form and sprinting/distance technique. Variety: Workouts held both on the track (for speed) and off-road (for trail-running adventures). They experiment with a variety of art techniques and use Crayola art materials to create frog paintings, ink diffusion jellyfish, polar bear sculptures, and more!   Please Bring: an old, oversized T-shirt to use as a smock, a nut-free snack and a drink each day.

That’s right …everyone’s favorite backyard game!!The game of Wiffle ball is a variation of baseball. The Wiffle ball is designed for indoor or outdoor play in confined areas. The game is played using a perforated, light-weight, resilient plastic ball and a long, typically yellow, plastic bat. Miniature versions of baseball have been played for decades, including stickball, improvised by children, using everything from rolled up socks to tennis balls. The ball most commonly used in the game was invented by David N. Mullany at his home in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1953 when he designed a ball that curved easily for his 12-year-old son. Join Tolland High School Track & Field coaches in a summer program designed to build speed, endurance, and confidence! Whether your child is looking to improve their fitness for other sports or discover the joy of running, Tolland On The Run offers a fun, supportive environment for all ability levels. What We’ll Cover: We move beyond the "boring" laps and focus on the fundamentals through high-energy activities. Participants will learn: The Essentials: Proper dynamic stretching and warm-up routines to stay injury-free. Running Mechanics: Games and drills that teach efficient form and sprinting/distance technique. Variety: Workouts held both on the track (for speed) and off-road (for trail-running adventures). Teamwork: Engaging running games that keep kids moving and smiling.   Group Day Time Location Grades 3–5 Tuesdays 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Tolland Middle School Track Grades 6–8 Thursdays 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Tolland High School Track Note: Please ensure participants arrive with comfortable running shoes, a labeled water bottle, and plenty of energy!
